Bob is on to the problem, I will add that a test can be made with a 12V test light (or any good 12v instrument size light in a socket with wires attached) With the tractor off, remove the wire from the big terminal on the alt. Attach one wire of the light to the terminal, and one to the wire just removed. If it lights, it is quite probably the internal power diodes. If it does not, reattach the big lead and try the other wire. If it lights there, it needs the regulator replaced. If it does noyt light there, try starting it with the light in that small wire circuit. If that fixes it, you need a light or small diode in that wire. JimN
