Michael, it is probably hard on you and your Dad, but at the same time he wants you kids to have something that is a keepsake. I'm only 59 and I hope to be around for a long time , however I have already made up my mind who gets my tractors, One grandson who has been a tractor fanatic since he was about a year and a half old, his parents will likely get my farm so he will have a place to keep them. My other grandchildren will be given like value in some other form as well as my other two adult children. There is nothing wrong with estate planning but it can be a sentimental time. Tell your Dad about your memories with that tractor and tell him how much you appreciate his generousity to you and your siblings. After I'm gone I can't oversee the dispersal of my estate but I can now! My favourite saying is "You never see a Brink's truck following a hearse to the cemetery"
