Seeing you must have the head off, visually inspect the pistons. Clean them up the best you can and if it still looks pretty bad soak it with a solvent like kerosene, liquid wrench, transmission fluid. The idea is to let it soak so the rust disloves just enough, so when you come back to it in 2-3 days hopefully with a sharp blow with a heavy hammer on top of a block of wood which is setting ontop of a piston, it frees up. Use some discretion you don't want to use a big sledge hammer as hard as you can because you can damage your pistons. You want to try and save them if possible. If it dosen't free up with a sharp blow from a 3-5 pound hammer let it soak another 3-4 days. You just have to be persistent, the object is to free it up and not to damage anything, otherwise it can run into a very expensive project.
