First off, the difference is 8 inches, not 18. As to which is more attractive, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There were about 75,000 B/BN's made and about 15,000 of them were BN's. B's came out in '39, BN's came out in '41 when IH discovered that the rear wheel spacing on the B didn't suit some farming operations. I have a B and like it. We had a BN on the farm when I was a kid and I liked it too. Some folks like a BN better because it is easier to fit on a trailer. My B needs a full 7 foot wide trailer where a BN will fit on a standard 75 inch wide between-the-fenders car trailer. It's all in what you like.
