Partner if it was running when you yourself shut it down I bet it is not the engine that is locked... Pull that starter and see if it wedged in the flywheel or as others have said the bendix is stuck and she is still engaged... But removed the starter before you try pulling it so nothing else gets busted ... Been there.. Makes you feel really stupid... I just hate that...
