You might have a bad cap but also could be a bad rotor. I would first repalce the rotor, since the caps for a mag are a little on the high side. Also you can check the cap for cracks by spraying starter fluid on the inside of the cap and let it air dry. If theres cracks in it you will be able to see them after the starter fluid has dried. What you will see is lines in the cap if its cracked. For some reason the starter fluid will make the cracks show up.
