I had just about the same problem a few weeks back. Before replacing everything. You may want to test the cap with a continuity tester. I did this and found that two pickups that were bad.
This may be true with yours.
Just a thought. Give it a try. I fixed mine, and it took about 10 minutes, and everything is working great. If this is your problem, I will tell you how I fixed mine. It was a lot cheaper than a new cap.
