I was drafted during the Korean War in 1953. The Peace Treaty was signed when I finished basic training and only one man from our platoon went to Korea. I volunteered to go Airborne and spent my time at Ft Bragg NC. My brother had joined the Air Force in 1951 to escape the draft after we finished high school. We both had turn down deferments for the farm. I got married in 1953 too. Our daughter was born at Ft Bragg and she is a Nurse Practitioner. Hal
