Two of my Mother's brothers serviced during the Korean conflict. They both died about 3 months apart from each other, 4 years ago. Uncle Orlin was a Marine that served in California. Uncle Gerald came back home after being hit by a grenade at Chosin Basin(?). As I sat and listened to his friend, who served with him, I realized that I had lost an opportunity to really know one of the greatest men in my live. Aunt Della said he had three welders in the garage and that no-one in the neighborhood threw anything away until Uncle Gerald looked at it. Both men were quiet and when they said anything at all, people listened. A hospice nurse had noticed a lump in Uncle Gerald's arm and was going to call the Dr.. No need to, he said. It's just a grenade fragment. I served during peace time, I feel kinda small in comparision what other have done. I think of my Uncles on this DAY. Thank you all
