The crankshaft is not tapered and does have a keyway. Best way to reinstall is by pressing on with a hy jack you will have to make a bracket to hold the jack. If you use heat be careful or too much heat will ruin the new seal. Check the journal where the seal goes if it is grooved you will need a speedy sleeve or the new seal will leak.I have done around a dozen in the last few years. Some have a set screw and some dont bu it any case it has to fit tight.
