Yes, I made a dolly when I pulled my H apart. I cut up an old round hay bale cart and welded two uprights on the axle. To those uprights I welded flat plates (2" x 10") in line with the side rails. After sliding one wheel under the oil pan, I attached the plates to the frame rails and added air to the tires to support the back of the engine and put my floor jack under the clutch housing. After removing the bolts from the clutch housing, the engine slid forward with no problems. The rigid axle and uprights on the dolly steadied the front end just fine. One other tip. I'm not sure on the M but the H has a bolt into the block that was hidden behind the starter. Pull the starter and check.
