Well when we fired my M which sat for two years we first changed the oil, put in fresh gas, sprayed some either, and and tried it. If it doesn't want to fire with the 6 volt battery take a 12 volt battery get some jumper cables and hook them up normal on the 12 volt and on the other leads gron the neg. on the frame and touch the pos. cable to the solenoid and it should fire right up.
