Jim, You may not need to pay that much for diesel. You should be able to buy it for ag use without the highway tax, which puts the price at about the same as gas at the pump. I paid $2.19 for some diesel this morning at a station where gas was about the same. And if you can"t find anyone to sell you the ag fuel, you can probably get a tax rebate when you do your income taxes.
