Update on M not starting.

I messed with my M last night even though it was 5* in my barn. It started right up buy ran like crap, then wouldn't start again. I pulled #1 spark plug and there was no fire, checked the rest and no fire on any of the others. Checked the plug/coil wires with my ohm meter and they were all good. It has a new coil and rotor on so I know their good. Can I pull the cap/rotor and distributor gears and crank it to seek if the point spark? Is there a procedure on checking the mag to see where the problems might be? What would it take to switch it to a distributor ignition (parts)? Any help appreciated. Bobg
