You should also check to make sure you don't have crud blocking the inlet to the fuel line inside the tank. It could restrict the flow enough to cause stalling. Here is my not highly recommended test. Remove the fuel line from the carb and blow into your fuel line until you hear bubbles in the tank. If the tractor runs fine after that, you can be sure that you had rust or other crud blocking the inlet, in which case you need to clean out your tank. Be careful.
