Have been trying to find differences. Case gave all info on International prior to 1960? to the Wisconsin Historical Society. I now have a copy of the service manual for A,AV,B,BN from YT and from Case plus one from the historical society for the IA--they are all the same book. Commentary from them so far is that the same production line could make any version depending on orders. Sometimes the line made a block of one version and sometimes it was just one. The IA was ordered through International dealers and, by marketing agreement, they got their own ID plate. All of them are a McCormick "A" model and the I, V, B and BN are 'versions' of the A. The coding breaks down to FA is a Farmall model A and for agriculture and called "Cultivision" because of the offset between driver and engine. The IA is a McCormick model A made for International and referred to as 'industrial'. It was sold for snow plows, sweepers and highway mowers etc. The IAAxxxxx had a cast adjustable front axle. It was the only IA model in the series so there is no IAV or IAB etc. The FA (standard model) had a non adjustable steel front axle and the FAA had the same cast adjustable front as the IA. All B versions had steel centers for the rear wheels and a suggestion to add one weight on the left to balance the offset driver or a heavy cast center was available for the left. The FAV had steel wheel centers and the suggestion to add one weight to the right to balance the offset engine. AV had 36" wheels with 7 or 8 inch rims where all others were 24" with 5.5 (for duals), 7,8,9,10, or 11 inch rims. The IA had "turf" tread tires as standard. The B rear could go from 64 to 92" and the BN was 56 to 84". B versions could have two different single wheel front forks or a narrow dual wheel that was adjustable with the narrow tires and not with the wide ones. So far, I have not found a production list so I do not know how many of which were made and in what years. The service manuals say the first A was #501 (1939), the first B was #3675 (1939), the first BN was FAB39715X7 (1940) and the code was changed to FABN at #48459 (1941). The first AV was #48562 (1941), and the first IA was #57284 (1941). The serial number of the first FAA is not known so far as I can find out. The upper left block on the ID plate will only have FA or IA and if blank they are replacements where someone did not know to stamp them. The serial number block has the version code after the model ie FAxxxx, FAAxxxx, FABxxxx, FAVxxxx etc. The IA will only have IAAxxxxxx, never an FAIxxxxx. Have seen lots of posts where questions were asked about this including me. I hope this helps some folks and if someone has additional or specific info or accurate corrections I would love to know.

When Push Comes to Shove - by Dave Patterson. When I was a “kid” (still am to a deree) about two I guess, my parents couldn’t find me one day. They were horrified (we lived by the railroad), my mother thought the worst: "He’s been run over by a train, he’s gone forever!" Where did they find me? Perched up on the seat of the tractor. I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
