I agree with it on back. Isn't there also a small pin on the post that aligns with a slot on the light bar? I think the pin is supposed to be the rivet that holds the top cast part of the post (where the steering shaft goes thru) to the pipe part of the post. Alot of these I've seen have been ground off and replaced with a bolt.
