Yep, you're right. They orginally came out with 15:1 compression and the reason they slobber and don't start when it's below 60 degrees. Essentially, the effect was somewhat like an old 282D without glow plugs. Aftermarkets and CaseIH changed the plan on the second design of the engine. Get the 17:1 pistons. Allan
