Hi Jim, I am not surprised at the oil analysis results. My brother has a 454 with the 3cyl D179 German Diesel and it has over 15,000 hrs and it still runs like a top. Never has to add oil between changes and starts good in cold weather. As someone else said these engine like to be worked and not idling around. JB2

It was powered by either a high-compression gas engine or a distillate version with lower compression.
