Hi Jim, I am not surprised at the oil analysis results. My brother has a 454 with the 3cyl D179 German Diesel and it has over 15,000 hrs and it still runs like a top. Never has to add oil between changes and starts good in cold weather.
As someone else said these engine like to be worked and not idling around.
