The best i've used is to use a oxy acetlyene torch with a medium welding tip to heat the remaining shell to red hot. Do it without directing the flame down the hole (and remove the easy out). After heating, allow it to cool to cold (10-15 min) then squirt on penetrant and turn it in before turning it out (square removal tools work for this) then work it in/out as you remove it. JimN
