Obviously the best way is to have one person on each side! However when a helper is not available I use a couple wood blocks (2x4 scraps or similar) and a step stool or inverted 5 gal bucket First undo all (4) hood latches. Then disengage and lift the rear of the hood far enough to slip a wood block between the top of the gas tank and the hood. Now go to the front of the tractor and do the same, inserting the 2nd block block between the top of the radiator and the hood. Finally place the step stool on the left side the tractor about in line with the exhaust stack, then stand on it, reach across and grab the hood and lift it free. Simply reverse the above steps to replace the hood.
