Lots of folks do a lots of things under the hood of the H including the conversion to the 12 volt system. Again "I think" you are going to depreciate the value of your tractor by making this conversion because it is just not the way it came from the factory. I personally think it is worth more with the factory system working. It is no big deal to fabricate the battery cables. Keep in mind that you need large cables...I believe it is #8 braded wire--might be #6, I cannot remember.... As indicated, the repair of the generator is about $100.00 and maybe $40.00 for voltage regulator--yours might not be bad. I suggest that you shop around and find a 9 V battery to replace the 6V. Yes, I did mean 9 V They are unusual but available. This will not require any modification of the coil or anything else. TW
