I do not suggest that Rotella Oil is bad. It is the application that matters. Some of these old junk engines have been badly treated and the sludge builds up in the engine. If it has been running on non detergent oil, then you throw in the Detergent oil, it will break that sludge loose and to the pan it goes. The problem is, the sludge is then sucked into the oil pickup and stops it up. and, if you are not on the ball every moment and be aware of the loss of oil pressure, there goes your bearings....and that is the only reason I had concern.
