I assumed (but did not state) that the charger needs to be 6 volt. If it is not, there be danger. A 12v battery can be used to start it (jumpered as follows : hook the positive cable to ground on the starter mount bolt. Put the tractor in neutral and block the clutch down to reduce loads on the starter. Turn on the ignition, but do not use the starter button/rod. Touch the other jumper lead to the starter side of the starter switch giving the starter 12v directly. This keeps 12 volts out of the other systems, and the starter motors on farmalls just spin faster with 12v, they do not fail from the extra juce. Good luck.
