Bob M, glad u beat this to the punch (I been doing law work plus theres some fun legal chat over on the tool board) cuz Id still have a lil heartburn on this one lol Ok those electric fuel pumps are surelyyyyyyyy permanent magnet motors right?????? meaning they (unlike our electromagnetic field starter motors) are polarity sensitive as far as direction of rotation is concerned WE AGREE SO FAR I AGREE that by insulative mounting methods an external to tank pump can still be wired n work fine HOWEVERRRRRRRRRRR his question and the use of that pump is just something that would make me nervous................ I guess its my legal training and my love of disclaimers cuz Id answer YES it will work BUTTTTTTT Im NOT recommending it lol lol Take care now Bob, wish we could meet at some tractor show n talk lectricity sometime?? Im givin Seminars at the New York Two Cylinder Expo July 07 and again at gathering of the Green in Moline in 08, stop by n see how us JD gents talk tractors lol stay away from all that red stuff it will stunt ur growth John T
