Dennis - The upper bushing can be driven out either up or down. However when I attempted to drive it down on mine the bushing shell began to collapse. So I used a chisel to slice the bushing vertically lengthwise, then sorta folded it up with a screwdriver and fished it out. The new bushing is easily driven in from above. ---- Tip: The seal below the bushing is bugger to get into place. If the seal is bad (and I'll guarantee it is...), leave it in place. Then rather than filling the steering box with oil, pack it solid with good grade grease. The grease will lube the gears just fine but won't leak out through the old seal.
