Replacing Upper Bushing in H

Last time I took a ride up the road on my Super H, the front end shimmied pretty bad. Today I found out why. With the lid off the steering gearbox, the gear turned on the shaft, and the shaft moved forward and back about 1/8" in each direction. Top bushing is definitely shot. How bad is it to get that bushing out once the front end is dropped out of the bottom? Is it pulled or driven out?
