The retrofit of a Red Diamond truck engine into the WK-40 tractor was a very common method of making this tractor into a real workhorse. While a nice engine to hear run, the original was lacking power for some applications. Also when it came time for a rebuild, truck parts were more common than ag parts so the impetus for a changeout was there. As for the manifold commonality, yes, the manifold from a tractor engine will fit onto the Red Diamond 450 head. The head is only 1 piece whereas the tractor head is 2 piece, but it will make no difference to the manifold. These manifolds are very hard to come by and extremely expensive for replacements. Hopefully your manifold is OK.
