Johnny Red, The basic rule of LPTO on this subject is....NO! Cheaper to find a wrecked out SMTA or 400/450 and use the rearend! Though with unnlimited funds anyting is possoble. The Live hydrolics is a different matter there are older conversion out there. I have an old 1940 m with a Balen PS and Distribitor driven pump. So puruse Ebay and those items can be obtained easily enough. I personally would start looking for a 400/450 for it is essentially what you are looking to build. They are cheaper and haven't gotten outragious in price. So leave your old M somewhat orignal. Good Luck. Later, John A.
