Hi Hugh, thanks for the great topic. Some things on YT must still be afowl as this topic just came up on the board for me about 15 minutes ago. Here in SW Wisc. 11:00 p.m. Central Time, temps range from -3 to 14 with wind chills -9 to -1. Forecast calls for wind chills in the -5 to -15 range through at least Wednesday evening. Began snowing late Sunday afternoon and as of this evening we have about five inches of beautiful white covering the brown. Took dad out of the home for breakfast as I told him it will be just to cold/windy for most of the week to go out. He was smiling at how beautiful it was. Good to see that. Shoveled the drive this a.m. about 5:00 by the light of the Christmas tree and small yard light. Beautiful. the ice on things can be beautiful also, with night lights on it, but, so many folks have way too much ice that is damaging to decades old trees; cattle and other creatures finding rough for living and power outages. I think of the lineman (dad worked for phone company 30+ years, many of them before lines were buried) who go out to turn the power back on. Firefighters who now have to fight icy roads as they respond and downed lines - sometimes live wires. I was volunteer for 15 years and ice really added to the task of fire calls. Hope you are still considered among the "sane". By the way, have you ever had "shebang" weather?? Me neither, wonder what kind of watches/warnings are issued for that. Again, great topic. I find it interesting to hear from so many parts of the world on weather. And your line....Internation...that was funny. Stay upright you folks!

Corn products were harvested for grain, and for ensilage (we always just called it 'silage'). Silo Filling Time On dairy farms back in the 30's and into the first half of the 40's, making of corn silage was done with horses pulling a corn binder producing tied bundles of fresh, sweet-smelling corn plants, nice green leaves with ear; the
