Red rear light

Thanks to advice from this site my 706 lights work for the first time in years. New switch, fuse holder and lots of cleaning.

I have another question though. The red rear light. The back of the sealed beam has a red film covering it, with a clear bulb that illuminates the back and gives. a red appearance.
Heat from the bulb and 30+ years have burned the film off in a circle right under the bulb. Anything to paint on there or coat it with to restore that look? Not really necessary but would be neat to restore it.
