First check your hydro fluid. The stick is down on the floor between your feet close to the dash. If that is ok, I would try to bleed the brakes. Under the operaters platform on each side are the brake assemblys with automotive type bleeder valves. Just bleed them like you would a car. As far as the pto goes, If your oil level in trans is ok, probably the clutch pack is wore out. It's not that hard of a job to get it out, just a little messy. The one on my 1086 gave out last spring while planting. I took it to my dealer to be rebuilt. With all the clutch packs and discs, he could do it alot faster than me. Handle on left side? That's the torque amplifier. I can't explain HOW it works, but it's like having another gear there to pull you thru teh TOUGH spots without using the clutch. That is one if IH's weaknesses. I'm sure someone on here can describe the torque better. Good Luck
