cdf: That engine block part number 354898 R1 came from either a Super A or Super C. That block part number was never cast until mid 1951, and was used on all Super A after serial 310300 and all Super C. The same part number in R3 was used in 100 and 200. You'll have to find the block date code to be sure which of 51, 52, 53 or 54 the block was cast. That engine may well be in a C now, but it did not come in a C.
