Hello. I also have an IH 250A with a D239. Both fuel filters are the same. The WIX 33166 filter crosses over to a NAPA Gold 3166. You can also get air, oil, and the hydrolic filter at NAPA. If you have the hydrostatic transmission you can get the two filters for it through a Case dealer. I have all the part numbers if you need them. As the other folks have told you, there is a bleeder plug on top of the dual fuel filter housing. That will probably be all you need to bleed if it was running just before you shut it off to change the filters. But it is possible that you will have to bleed the inlet fuel line where it connects into the fuel pump. If you have to do that you will probably also need to crack the fuel lines at the injectors and crank the engine until it sputters before you tighten them back up. You mentioned the temps were pretty cold...if you are using #2 diesel I wonder if you are having a jelling problem? I live in Alaska and have to use #1 diesel during the winter months. I start seeing jelling with #2 diesel at temps somewhere around -15 (wind chill doesn't matter). If you do use #1 diesel you should also add some lubricant to the fuel so it will be a little easier on the injectors. I use my tractor for snow removal at temps down to about 25 below. When it's colder than that I don't like to run it.

The Cletrac General GG and the BF Avery A - A Bit of History - by Mike Ballash. This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F. Avery model A tractors. I am quite sure that most of it is accurate. The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
