Hi AGR, There is a shop in Lincoln NE that is doing some spectacular work with cast iron, I have seen some IH diesel heads in his shop. A lot of the big welding shops here will send a job like yours to him. He has a very good understanding of cast iron, which is very hard to find. Very expensive, usually not in a hurry, and he gaurentees his work. I will send his contact info if you are interested.
