More Super A Questions

Now I am wondering, does the Super A transmission always make a loud whining sound? What causes this? The sound is much louder than the transmission in my 2N or Allis-Chalmers. It is a 1950 model and there is a decal on the radiator saying that it is a pressure cooling system, but I have a fuel cap that I got from the dealer on it. When I shut it off today after running it 20 minutes in 35 degree weather, a lot of steam was coming from around the cap. I am not familiar with thermosiphon cooling systems. Is this normal? If not, what do you think the problem is? Thank you. Erik
