Like the other guys said, start out by inspecting the front axle for a mechanical problem. Jack it off of the ground and see if you've got something binding up. If you don't find anything there, I think the next place to look would be the steering valve, which is located on the top of the speed transmission housing on the left side, has a cast iron center with aluminum end caps. Could also very well be a problem inside of the bolster, but I'd tear into the steering valve first because it is much easier to get at. Suppose it could also be in the hand pump if something went majorly wrong.
