I want to purchase a compression tester for my '49 SA and my '51 H. The Champion spark plug book shows that the thread on their recommended plug, RD18Y, is 18mm. I find that hard to believe because metric threads were not utilized back in those years. The only tester I can find has 14mm and 18mm threads. I want the screw-in type fo tester so that I can leave it in the cylinder when I crank the engine. Does anybody have an H under restoration? If so, would you mind checking the plug thread to see if it really is 18mm rather than an SAE thread? Thanks for the help.
