When I was restoring my 8n I talked to a lot of
people about sandblasting.Most all of them said
to take all the parts off the tractor that you could and have them sandblasted but if you don't
want sand inside your motor or transmission or
your hydraulic system do not sandblast the tractor.One man that did sandblasting said you may
think you have taped all the hole and entry points
that could possibly exist but you really haven't
and that the sand would find it's way in.But I
talked to others who say that they have sandblasted many tractors without any problems.
I chose the wire brush method and it turned out
great (many hours of work)
