If the smoke drifts away in a cloud it could be oil from worn guides. Especially if the smoke is also present when going down a hill in high gear and idling it down (causes high vacuum and pulls oil through intake guides)
If it smells sweet it might be antifeeze. After sitting over night pull all the plugs and have someone crank it (without the ignition on) If water/antifreeze comes out a cylinder, it is a leak. Head gasket, or cracked Head most likely.
