Unclear what you have. Go to the ATIS Cub FAQ (follow the link) and use the pictures to determine what model you have. The serial number is not attached to the engine so engine swaps shouldn't mess that up. The Farmall and offset Lo-Boy numbers are attached to the front bolsters, which do get replaced. So maybe that is the problem.

Is the leaking oil transmission oil? On the offset models, it is not unusual for the front transmission seal to leak oil which collects in the rear of the bell housing. When the tractor is tipped forward (as when loading) the oil can run forward and out the openings at the front of the housing. It is not expensive or difficult to fix, but requires splitting the tractor at the rear of the bell housing. $300 is a substantial discount for this problem.
