Blasting is the way to go, rust is a fungus and the only way to get rid of it is blast it off, a wire wheel will work but not as well and you'll spend hours doing it.You can blast pretty well everything but be real careful with the hood unless it's really rigid, I blasted a Massey 30 hood and watched it curl into a tube shape.The fenders and gas tank will take the high pressure blasting but cut the pressure on the lighter tin.The other nice thing about blasting is you can blast,epoxy & paint all in one day.Anyway, good luck whichever route you choose.
