Mark, These guys have all given you good advice. Could be anything from a simple adjustment to a welded planetary. However, that "hard shifting" symptom is pointing at clutch adjustment. Don't be discouraged. That 686 is one heck of a nice tractor and is worth the cost of repair, no matter what the cause. Allan
