T/A on 686 doesn't work

I just bought a 3000 hour 686 a few weeks ago. I've put about 20 hours on it cutting hay and baling. Today all of a sudden the t/a quit working. When you pull the lever back nothing happens. It continues moving at the dd speed. It also seems to shift out of gear harder now. Is it out of adjustment or is the t/a wrecked already? This is really disapointing because I really like the tractor otherwise. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks, Mark
