Not sure on that, Kirk. I don't know the 20 or 30, but do know how that a friend's F-14 has a different sound from my BN and SuperC. I don't know tha the engines from the F-14 to the 113 and 123 were all that different in basic design and if I had to venture a guess, it might have to do with the fan and/or the tinwork. I hadn't actually had any distance on hearing my tractors running hard until I let a friend (who kindly lent me the garage space for a coupla weeks to paint the BN) take it up the road. As he got away a little bit, I heard a sound I hadn't heard in years -- I'd forgotten about bein' at the house and hearing that tractor running out in the fields. What you hear is not the exhaust but the fan. So I'm thinkin' maybe the fan might be driving more air of the letter series, or maybe is just resonates more with the shroud and grill than it did on the F-x's. A thought, anyway.
