Well, that was a wasted effort! :>( Hi-Lo shift linkage on the 966 sheared the roll pin, so I replaced it with a 1/4" bolt and double nutted. Had a heck of a time "reaching" the detent; really had to play with it to get the old sow in gear; both directions. Fought it long enough to finish the baling and the summer fallow ground then I tore the tractor back down to parade rest. Went into town, searched high and low and finally found a 7mm bolt and the proper drill bit to ream 'er out and "oversize" it. Was all set to start drilling it out. But first, and for some reason just on a "whim", I then tried a common, everyday 1/4" roll pin. Had to beat it in with a hammer and stout punch. Darned tractor "acts" normal now and shifts just fine. Hope it lasts. :>( Pictures are the "no-go" repair. Allan
