Johnnnny: Sorry, ol' bud; Dreamland idea. By today's standards, an old row-crop design like the M family of tractors would be considered a major safety hazard with its high center of gravity, no ROPS, etc. The ambulance chasing lawyers would have a field day with Case New Holland, ripping them to shreds like sharks in a feeding frenzy. It is a wonder that all the surviving tractor companies in this country have not been sued for their 40 year-old designs - like was done to companies such as Piper Aircraft 20 years ago. Probably the EPA would never let them reproduce the 264 gas engine either, since it would be "dirty" by today's standards. Then, there is that little matter of cost. How much do you think a new SMTA would have to sell for to cover all the costs of tooling up and building 10,000 units, not to mention all the spare parts you would want your dealer to be able to get for you? $35,000? $40,000? And, what would Case IH do with the other 7,500 tractors after all 2,500 passionate SMTA enthusiasts with enough money to burn in that amount, bought theirs? Just be grateful the originals were built so well that so many are still around. Great machine; the king of the letter series for sure. But, it will never happen.... mike durhan

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
