Hello all: I just bought a 300 rowcrop with fasthitch about 2 weeks ago. I have about 3 hours of running on it. It has a loader with wf-end. I felt that the hydraulics were just too slow. But it had power to lift tractor off ground at quarter throttle but hyd seemed too slow wheather on a load or just empty... Anyway, I decided to pull the filter (located near left brake pedal)in the hyd control unit. Previous owner didn't recall ever cleaning it in his 15 years of using it... The filter screen was coated with various crud. I cleaned-replaced filter and refilled hyd fluid. It has a one gallon reserve tank located ahead of the gas tank and the filler sticks up-out of the hood panel. I put all fluid that I drained out back in and even added one third gallon to bring fluid level to within an inch of the hood panel. That fluid level is almost as high up as most all of the control unit. I left set for an hour thinking there should be fluid reaching the hyd pump. Started engine and can NOT get hyd action. So what is the safe way to prime the hyd pump? Must be air someplace? Thanks. agpilot
