I'll be hangin' in, and you do the same. I'm thinking from what you say that the problem is the cap. Like CNKS said, it shouldn't have anything that you'd call wiggle. (I've been out and looked at my SuperC and the lug is on the cap, the slot it fits into is on the lip of the distributor.) One other thought, before you go chasing around for another cap is to double-check your coil wire to make sure it's tight on both ends. I always pull the boot back from each end and push in on the wire to make sure that it's seated in the cap and the coil, then slip the boots down back over the ends. A good practice with plug wires, too, but especially on the coil wire if only because it is such a tight bend. Mail order can be a pain when your tractor's down, but if you've got a CaseIH dealer inside 150 miles, call them up and they can have the right cap to you by UPS overnight without having to pay for overnight service.
