This is part of my frustration, I think. I don't know if the old parts are good or bad AND I can't be sure if the new parts are good or bad. There is so much junk floating around anymore. The old cap fit better than the new but not great. The new cap (TSC tune-up kit) does not snug down on the distributor. The bump on the cap only barely enters the notch on the distributor and it only does that when you clamp it down. After clamping it wiggles around pretty good on there. I hope the TSC kit is not the problem because, as mentioned earlier, it is a two hour round trip to Lennon to buy parts. I would have to do mail order and that is a real time commitment. I will re gap the points tomorrow if the lovely weather cuts me some slack and really try to analyze the problem with the cap. Don't suppose this could be a non-stock distributor? Hang in there with me 'cause I would REALLY like to be able to say I fixed this thing. I'll pull the battery and get her tested.
